RYOBI Ink Volume Setter uses PostScript data created on Macintosh computers to calculate the image area ratio for each ink fountain key on a RYOBI printing press, while RYOBI Ink Volume Setter-CIP4(PPF) uses CIP3/CIP4(PPF) files created with CIP3/CIP4(PPF)-compatible software on a PostScript RIP. The calculated data is loaded via a 3.5-inch floppy disk or through a network into a RYOBI Printing Control System connected to a RYOBI printing press. The system then converts the data into the opening degree of each ink fountain key.

RYOBI's printing density control systems calculate the difference in solid density and screen density(the RYOBI PDS-E and PDS-E AUTO calculate only the difference in solid density)between the color bar on the printed sheet and the OK sheet. This data is fed back to the printing control system to control the ink fountain keys. Quality control which depended on the operator's experience and skill can be performed numerically for faster, more accurate color correction, eliminating the wasted paper and standardizing printing quality.

RYOBI PDS-ProE has the feature as a profile making device in addition to the feature of RYOBI PDS-Pro. This device makes ICC (standardized by the International Color Consortium) profiles and feed backs the profiles to the color proofer to allow the proof to be matched with the press printed sheet. RYOBI PDS-ProE is the exclusive option for RYOBI 3404X-DI/ RYOBI 3404E-DI.

Numbering and perforating unit

The NP unit NP52 for the A3-Plus Size Multi-Color Offset Presses enables in-line processing of numbering, perforating and imprinting operations simultaneously with offset printing. It features an independent NP impression cylinder system which allows high-quality numbering and perforating without affecting the offset printing quality. To enhance operational ease, the NP unit uses a well-proven swing-away design.
